Gilda Razani – Theremin, Saxophon, Flöte, Lyrics Hans
Wanning – Piano, Electronics
Poetisch und phantasievoll lassen sich Gilda Razani und
Hans Wanning von der großen Sinfonie der Welt inspirieren und gestalten
bewegende Soundtracks in einem einzigartig atmosphärischen clubbig groovenden
Sound.
Schmidt Show in Erinnerung sein. Ein ganz besonderer Abend mit wirklich
fantastischen Klängen und Rhythmen – unbedingt empfehlenswert! von

he theremin is one of the
most fascinating and unique electronic musical instruments, known for
being played without physical contact. Here’s an overview of its
history, how it works, and its cultural impact:
What is a Theremin?
-
An early electronic instrument invented
in 1920 by Leon
Theremin (Lev Termen), a Russian physicist.
-
Played by moving hands near two antennas:
-
Produces an eerie, ethereal sound,
often used in sci-fi and horror films.
How Does It Work?
-
Operates on electromagnetic fields (capacitance
sensing).
-
The player’s hands disrupt the field, altering pitch and volume.
-
Requires precise hand movements (considered one of the hardest
instruments to master).

Why Is It Special?
-
The only instrument played without touch.
-
A bridge between science and music (invented
in a lab).
-
Still used in experimental, avant-garde, and film music today.

because it's played
without physical contact.
How it works:
Sound:
-
The theremin produces an
eerie, wavering tone,
often associated with science
fiction and horror films from
the 1950s and 60s.
-
Its tone can resemble a
human voice,
violin, or
synthesizer.
